Chapter 28 — Shalih al-Marqidi
It is narrated that Shalih al-Marqidi, may Allah have mercy on him, once passed by a village. When everything was quiet, he asked:
Suddenly, he heard a voice calling out:
“O dwelling place, where are your former inhabitants? Where are those who once lived and prospered in you? And where are your earlier residents?”
1. The traces of their lives have disappeared.
2. Their bodies have been consumed by the earth.
3. What remains are their deeds, which accompany them in the realm of the grave.
